Your iron is your next best friend after your sewing machine. Here at the school we press every single seam--yes, each one! Start of your sewing session by turning on your machine and plugging in your iron. All of this pressing contributes to professional looking garments. With a little practice your seams will be perfect. Take a look at the flat felled seam below--perfection, and by one of our beginners!
HINT: Always use filtered water in your iron for steaming. This keeps the gunk out of the iron that is in some tap water and prevents leaking irons. I keep a Brita filter pitcher ready at all times.
